Rebels besiege Syrian pro- al Qaeda militants


Syrian rebels surrounded the insurgents in Iraq and the Levant ( ISIL ) at their base in the north , on Monday ; quell the pro al Qaeda group , which is accused of massive abuses .

The coalition of opponents of Syrian President Bashar al - Asssad , was trying to evict ISIL - accused of kidnapping , torture and murder of rival rebel groups and civilians - from their base in the city of Raqa , northern Syria .

The new front in the civil war increasing in Syria opened less than three weeks from the peace conference , where the United Nations has begun sending invitations , excluding Iranian ally Syria .

Monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights ( SOHR ) , said the rebels in Raqa , managed to free prisoners detained Syrian Sunni militant group , which is expected to lock up hundreds of prisoners , including foreign journalists .

Raqa the only capital of the province which are not controlled by the government since the conflict began in March 2011 with peaceful protests demanding democratic reform but increases to broad -scale war as Assad's forces launched a crackdown on dissidents .
