The rupiah moved down so Rp12.215 per U.S. dollar
The rupiah in Jakarta interbank transactions moving down from Rp12.205 per U.S. dollar became Rp12.215 per U.S. dollar on Thursday morning , ahead of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia ( BI ) .
" Toward the Meeting of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia rupiah stable moves , market participants and economists indicate that the benchmark interest rates rise , fixed at the level of 7.5 percent , " said the Head of Research of the Trust Securities , Reza Priyambada .
He said the benchmark interest rate ( BI rate ) may not rise because of domestic economic data is still good , Indonesia's trade balance recorded a surplus , inflation remains under control , and increasing foreign exchange reserves .
Reza estimates , the rupiah will still be bounded because market players are still looking at how aggressive the U.S. central bank ( The Federal Reserve ) conduct financial stimulus reduction .
"The rupiah will be limited , market participants await the process of tapering the Fed , " he said .
Bank Money Market Analyst Arya Wisnubroto Rully also estimated , the exchange rate is stable against the U.S. dollar move although overshadowed by foreign capital outflow from Indonesia .
" Dollar still be stable in the medium term at the level of Rp12.050 - Rp12.300 per U.S. dollar , " he said .
He hoped that the response of market participants are still positive on the economic data of the Central Statistics Agency ( BPS ) can withstand the pressure on the rupiah .
