The rupiah traded at Jakarta interbank moved higher on Tuesday morning at nine points to Rp12.100 than ever in a position Rp12.109 per U.S. dollar .
Money market analyst at Monex Investindo Futures , Zulfirman Basir on Tuesday said that the sentiment of dollars still awake or moving stable , optimism rising foreign exchange reserves are expected to return to withstand the negative sentiments in circulation .
" Investors are still concerned with the projection of high inflation , current account deficit , and the economic slowdown in Indonesia , " said Zulfirman .
Of external , he added , the rupiah is still overshadowed by the continuing financial policy stimulus reduction ( tapering ) ahead of the U.S. central bank 's Federal Open Market Committee ( FOMC ) on 28-29 January.
" Projected , dollars may be traded in the range Rp12.070 - Rp12.155 per U.S. dollar for today (Tuesday , 21/1 ) , " he said .
Meanwhile , an analyst at PT Platon Niaga Futures , Lukman Leong said that the movement of the rupiah is still overshadowed by the rise of the economy yet the countries in Asia , especially China's economy slowed in the fourth quarter of 2013 to 7.7 per cent over the previous period 7 , 8 percent .
" External factors not support the strengthening of the domestic currency , the exchange rate correction is still likely to occur in the majority of the world's major currencies , " said Lukman .
He added that the effects of fiscal stimulus reduction ( tapering ) by the U.S. central bank ( the Fed ) will weigh on the currency of developing countries , including Indonesia due to make U.S. dollar liquidity getting tighter .
