At least 25 killed in blast in Homs, Syria

At least 25 people were killed and more than 100 wounded when two car bombs exploded Wednesday (9/4) in the city of Homs - Syria.

The second explosion occurred on a busy road which is generally inhabited by members of the Alawite minority pro-President Bashar al-Assad, which the government forces against the tight siege districts rebel.

Syrian news agency, SANA said a car bomb exploded near a candy store on a busy street, the other blasts followed half an hour later.

Among the dead and wounded are women and children. Syrian television station showed a few shops and burning cars.

Syrian human rights monitoring organization based in the UK, said the blast killed 21 people, including children, but that number is expected to continue to grow because of several injuries, is now in critical condition. VOA
