A local resident told VOA that the attackers burned houses , offices and Government Secondary School for Girls Chibok , before kidnapping the girls . According to the residents , the students were kidnapped crammed into a truck .
The local police commissioner confirmed the incident . No one has claimed responsibility for the attack or kidnapping .
The attack was similar to other attacks launched by Islamist militant group Boko Haram , which is accused guilty launched a series of attacks against schools , markets , churches , mosques and other targets since 2009 .
Borno is one of three states that are set under a state of emergency since last May . Nigerian military has launched an operation intended to crack down on militant groups , but large-scale attacks are still continuing .VOA
