United States President Barack Obama said the rockets were shot down MH17 aircraft launched from rebel territory in eastern Ukraine.
In a brief meeting at the White House, Obama said: "I think it's important for us to look at this outrageous incident as an important moment to restore peace and security in the Ukraine."

He called for an immediate ceasefire in eastern Ukraine. Obama also asked for full access to the investigator to conduct the investigation and the evidence should not be tampered with.
