Indef : Indonesia Economy Grows Seven Percent in 2019


 Institute for Development of Economics and Finance ( Indef ) projected economic growth in Indonesia in 2019 was able to achieve seven percent if there are changes in economic policy .

" To realize the target of high economic growth necessary policy consistency , commitment , and synergy between sectors or agencies and central government and local governments , " said Director INDEF Enny Sri Hartati in a press conference here on Wednesday .

INDEF , according Enny , noted four strategies to realize economic growth of seven per cent in 2019 which is a strategy of food security , energy security , acceleration of infrastructure , and the return of trade surplus .

" The increase in domestic food production can be done with farm management , institutional innovation and agricultural inputs , the budget allocation for human resource capacity building agriculture , and strictly controlling the conversion of agricultural land , " he said .

Enny said energy security strategy can be reached , among others, by means of restrictions on private vehicles , fuel efficiency in the transport sector and the development of public transport .

Meanwhile , the strategy of infrastructure acceleration is achieved by prioritizing the development of agriculture and maritime infrastructure in addition to the certainty of land for infrastructure development .

" Fundamental step to reduce the trade deficit is by controlling imports of fuel oil , in addition to increasing the value of exports through the acceleration of downstream industries , " said Enny .

Enny said that if the government does not do strategy and policy fundamentals , Indonesia will continue entangled in the same economic problems and terbejak the " middle income trap" .

In addition to the economic growth projections , INDEF also projected inflation reached four per cent , 20 per cent tax rate , Gini ratio of 0.31 percent , and the unemployment rate is open three percent by 2019 if the government is able to seize the momentum of economic policy in the next five years .
