White House photo protest ' selfie ' Obama

White House criticizes Samsung for promoting photo " selfie " taken by the Boston Red Sox baseball player David Ortiz with President Barack Obama .

The picture was taken by Ortiz by using a Samsung phone and retweet this week by Samsung which has 5.2 million followers ..

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the president of photos should not be used for commercial gain .

Samsung representatives have not commented on the matter .

Carney said the White House legal counsel has been consulted on the matter .

" Without discussing the matter with legal counsel , I can say that according to the rules , the White House highlighted the president's attempt to use the portraits to commercial interests , and we certainly object to that problem , " he said .

Ortiz gave the Red Sox T-shirt uniform stamp president presidents name and then posed " selfie " by using a smartphone .

" I gave him a uniform shirt , and a photographer will take a picture and I think , is really at the last second , I might have to take pictures with my phone when I get a chance , " said Ortiz told the Boston Globe .

" You can not have the opportunity to take pictures with the president every day . "

He denied Samsung gives paid more for the image.
