Bombing kills 71 people in Nigeria

A total of 71 people were killed by a bomb explosion at a bus terminal capital city of Nigeria , Abuja , on Monday and President Goodluck Jonathan blamed the Boko Haram group as the perpetrators of the deadliest attack ever experienced by the city .

The bomb that also wounded 124 people shook the terminal Nyanya in Abuja at 6:45 local time ( 00:45 GMT) when the place is filled by civilians who want to go to work , AFP reported .

The bomb left a deep crater 1.2 meters and destroyed dozens of vehicles .

The explosion " is derived from a vehicle " parked at the terminal , said department head of the National Emergency Management Agency SAR Charles Otegbade .

While visiting the scene , President Jonathan stated that Nigeria would overcome the insurgency group Boko Haram - which in the past accused of being responsible for killing thousands of civilians in Nigeria since 2009 .

" The issue of Boko Haram has tarnished the country's history in the construction period . However we will sort it out . Problem of Boko Haram is only temporary , " said Jonathan .

Boko Haram group , which wants the establishment of an Islamic state in northern Nigeria , has previously launched several bombings around the capital - including a car bombing at the UN office that killed 26 people in 2011 .

Jonatahan itself was criticized by many because it is considered not able to cope with the violence of Boko Haram . He is expected to be difficult to win the presidential election next year because of this problem.

According to observers Adetokunbo Mumuni , the latest bomb attack in Nigeria's capital city will worsen Jonathan credibility in the eyes of the public in handling the Boko Haram violence committed .

The bomb explosion will be a reminder that the government's strategy in suppressing a revolt " is inadequate and does not succeed , " Mumuni said in a written statement .

In May last year , the military launch a major operation to crush the rebellion and after it claimed the power of Boko Haram has been getting weaker . But that success is questionable after the attack on Monday.

Some experts say that military force will not stop the blood pertumpakan . They urged the government to empower the poor economy in the northern region where young people who are out of work choose to become a member of Boko Haram .

Nigeria is oil producers with the biggest economies of scale in Africa . Nevertheless , more than 80 percent of the population live on less than 2 U.S. dollars per day .
