Hundreds missing in South Korean boat accident

Two people were killed and more than 100 still missing after a ferry carrying 476 people overturned and sank off the coast of South Korea .

Local reports said that , so far , 368 people have been rescued ..

This major rescue operation is underway , and involves about 34 navy , coast guard and civilian ships and 18 helicopters .

The ferry, carrying many students of this school , was traveling from the port of Incheon , to a southern island of Jeju.

The pictures show the state ferry tilted and mostly submerged , with only a small portion of the hull visible .

The cause is not yet clear
A photograph showed rescuers pull teen from a sinking ship cabin window .

Some of them jumped into the sea when the ship began to sink .

Reports indicate that some of the rescued passengers and picked up by commercial ships that are nearby .

Navy divers are now searching for people missing , authorities said .BBC
