Head of Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Ministry of Public Works Ahmad Ghani Ghazali explained that currently the government is pursuing the construction of 1089 km and 534 km of them in the scale of priorities.

"Indonesia has targeted about 5,400 km of highways, 1089 km is currently under construction, which operates the new 774 km," Ghani said during a hearing with Commission V at the capitol, Jakarta, Thursday (27/3).

Current of 774 km of highways that have been in operation, divided into 28 sections. The majority is in Java. Of these, 18 segments are predominantly managed and operated by Jasa Marga.

"So here Jasa Marga is still dominant, in total there are 18 segments, including its subsidiary (3 sections)," he said.

He admitted, to realize the dream is not the issue easily. Ghani argued that the difficulty of land acquisition can not be predicted completion time, become one of the main problems.

"The issue of land acquisition each segment is unique. Not with each other, it takes the attention of us all. Staff experts are monitoring directly on the release," he said.
