At least 33 people were killed when a passenger bus that excess slip and fall into a river in northern India, Wednesday (05/08/2013).

The deadly accident happened at the popular tourist resort of Kullu, about 250 kilometers from the state capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

"So far, 33 bodies have been found from the River Beas. Additionally, 14 people injured and now in hospital," said local police chief local tv broadcasting, RS Negi.

Negi added that the death toll feared to rise as some victims were allegedly washed away the torrential river Beas.

So far, police do not know with certainty the number of bus passengers who were ill-fated journey to a village of the Kullu town.

The accident was the worst traffic accident in India since last March when 37 people were killed after a bus plunged from a bridge into a river in Maharashtra.
