Seven Indonesian volcanoes on alert status defined, by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) Bandung Geological Agency.

"The distribution of the most were in North Sulawesi respectively Soputan, Karangetang and Lokon," said Chief PVMBG, Surono in Manado, on Friday.

He said four other volcanoes respectively Banyuwangi Mount Ijen in East Java, Mount Rokatenda Palue Island East Nusa Tenggara, the volcano in Garut district of West Java and Gunung Api Sangiang Bima Regency of West Nusa Tenggara.

All of this mountain he continues to be monitored by volcanic activity to increase alertness.

He said, when the mountain will erupt there would be signs that indicated such an increase in seismicity, but when will the eruption can not be predicted.

"Likewise with normal status, alert, alert and aware it is not intended to predict the eruption. Again when there is an increase, not necessarily to be followed by the eruption," he said.

But according to him, the stages are very important benefit status to serve as a warning
