FBI: North Korea behind the hacking of Sony Pictutes
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) United States
believes North Korea was behind the cyber attacks against Sony Pictures, late
last year, after the hackers act recklessly.
FBI Director, James Comey, said a group of hackers
(hackers) was released material from a number of servers used exclusively by
North Korea.
The hackers, further Comey, actually tried to hide their
identities by using servers in disguise. However, sometimes, they are by
negligent use servers that are only used the North.
Comey explanation given to the participants of the
International Conference on Security Siber in New York, responded to skepticism
by experts.
"To be honest, Comey did not reveal anything new.
Various internet protocol address (IP address) has been associated with this
attack, ranging from a hotel in Taiwan until the IP address in Japan. Each IP
address that is connected to the Internet can be hacked and used by the
hackers, "said Brian Honan, security researchers.
Sony Pictures suffered a series of data leaks, the last
in December 2014. The attack was masterminded by a group of hackers who call
themselves, Peacekeeping.
The group paved access to the corporate network and stole
a large amount of internal information.
This led to a number of pirated movies, and millions of
electronic mail and personal information leaked into the public domain.
The attacks were carried out in the middle of Sony's
efforts to release the film The Interview - comedy about CIA recruited
journalists to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (BBC)
