Opposition Syrian negotiations to reiterate present in Switzerland

 The opposition Syrian National Coalition supported the West insists that it will take part in the international negotiations on January 22 after an invitation to Iran drawn by the United Nations on Monday.

" We appreciate the United Nations and the ( UN Secretary General ) Ban Ki - moon on our position . We think they have taken the right decision . Participation we confirmed for January 22 , " said Monzer Akbik , chief of staff to the president of the National Coalition , told Reuters .

Another coalition member , Anas Abdah , said they send a list of delegates to the UN conference Monday night .

The United Nations on Monday to cancel the invitation to attend a peace conference Iran Syria this week for his refusal to support the calls for the transitional government in Syria .

UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said Secretary-General Ban Ki -moon " very disappointed " in the statement of the 2012 Iran rejects the communique adopted by the international powers to end the Syrian war .

" Given that they have chosen to remain outside the basic understanding , it has been decided that the Montreux day meeting will proceed without the participation of Iran , " Nesirky said at a press conference .

Ban issued a surprise invitation to Iran on Sunday to attend the start of the Syrian peace conference in the Swiss city on Wednesday .

But the Syrian opposition threatened to withdraw from negotiations if Iran is present and the United States has retracted an invitation asking if Iran does not accept the communique , which called for a transitional government .

Just before the announcement of the UN broadcast , Iran's envoy to the UN Mohammad Khazaee reaffirmed his government 's refusal over the communique adopted in Geneva in June 2012 .

" Iran has always supported to find a political solution to this crisis , " Khazaee said in a statement .

" But the Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept a prerequisite for participation in the Geneva Conference II .

" If Iran's participation is conditioned to accept the Geneva communique I, Iran will not participate in the Geneva II , " he told Reuters .
