Trade Minister ( Minister ) Gita Wirjawan starting tomorrow February 1, 2014 resigned from his post , in order to better focus follows the convention of the Democratic presidential candidate .
" I resign effective February 1, 2014 . Letter ( of resignation ) has been approved by the President , " said Gita Wirjawan in a press conference held at the Ministry of Trade , Jakarta , Friday ( 31/1 ) .
Gita expressed his gratitude to his colleagues in the Ministry of Trade , as Deputy Minister of Trade Krisnamurthi , Secretary General , Ministry of Trade and other extended family , which had been providing support him in running the duties as Secretary of Commerce in the United Indonesia Cabinet ( KIB ) II . .
In a press conference , Gita Wirjawan convey the importance of focus in the presidential convention organized Democratic Party . Because of this , he felt the need to resign from his post as Minister of Trade .
" My next step is to take the best step in the development of democracy in Indonesia . I thank my wife who provide support every step I took , including the time of entry into the government more than four years ago , " said Gita .
As known , Gita Wirjawan inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono became the Minister of Trade in 2011 and replacing Mari Elka Pangestu transferred into the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Development . Previously , . Gita Wirjawan served as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board ( BKPM ) .
