UN chief Appreciation New Tunisian Constitution

The new constitution was about to make Tunisian democracy that is not based on Islamic law .

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki -moon, the new constitution of Tunisia responded by saying she was confident the country could become " an example for the people of other countries who seek reform . "

Ban describe Tunisian democratic transition was marked by efforts to engage in dialogue and reach consensus , and advocate that the following steps peaceful , inclusive and transparent . He also urged Tunisia to ensure equitable economic growth and sustainable .

Upheaval in Tunisia three years ago triggered the so-called Arab Spring or awakening in the Arab world . The country's National Assembly approved a new constitution Sunday ( 26/1 ) , which is one of the most progressive in the Arab world .

Approval reached Sunday after Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa raised new interim cabinet to defuse the crisis between the Islamists and the secular opposition until new elections are held later this year .

Compromise and progress in Tunisia that contrasts sharply with the chaotic democratic transition in Egypt , Libya and Yemen , which is trapped in the riots after the overthrow of their old leaders in power , the rebellion and upheaval in 2011 .
