Devastating flash floods on the island of Siau , North Sulawesi , to invert a small boat on the beach .
Flash floods flowing from a mountain and make a boat capsized off the coast of northern Sulawesi , killing two people and made 27 others missing , according to disaster management agency official , Sunday ( 26/1 ) .
Eight people managed to escape when water entered the ship on Saturday morning while the remote Siau Island with torrential rain fell , according to the officials , in areas affected by floods and landslides in recent weeks .
" Flood is very strong to invert a small boat off the coast of Siau , " Good said Tjahjono , a senior official of the National Disaster Management Agency ( BNPB ) .
It is unclear what type of ship that suffered the accident .
Siau is part of a group of small islands at the top of North Sulawesi . The province severely affected by this disaster . On Saturday , one person was killed as floods sweep his house on the edge of the river , while another died in the hospital due to injuries from previous flooding .
