Syrian President Visit Frontline In the Civil War
State television showed President Assad dinner with
soldiers in Jobar district, the location of fierce fighting in recent months
against opposition fighters.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a rare visit to the
forefront of the civil war in his country and spend New Year's Eve with his men
in the suburbs of Damascus.
State television showed President Assad dinner with
soldiers in Jobar district, the location of fierce fighting in recent months
against opposition fighters. Assad looks embrace soldiers and praised them for
protecting the country.
Syrian troops have been fighting rebels since the year
2013 and continued fighting on the outskirts of Damascus.
Meanwhile, Syrian human rights institutions Observatory
for Human Rights said 76 021 people were killed in Syria last year, including
thousands of civilians.
The conflict there started from peaceful demonstrations
against President Assad in March 2011, but it quickly turned into a civil war
that has killed some 200,000 people. (VOA)
