Indonesian air force aerobatics team , Jupiter Acrobatic Team , they will perform at the Singapore Air Show on Tuesday, February 11 , despite tensions over the naming of the Indonesian Navy ship KRI Usman Harun .
" Jupiter aerobatic team already in Singapore and is currently undergoing training for the Singapore Air Show , " Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said in Jakarta Monday.
However , he stressed that the delegation of Indonesian officials including the Indonesian Armed Forces Commander General Moeldoko , Deputy Minister of Defense Sjafrie, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Ida Bagus Putu World Indonesia and Indonesian Army Chief Lt. Gen. Budiman will not attend the Singapore Air Show .
Purnomo also confirmed that Singapore has canceled an invitation to 100 Indonesian military personnel to attend the Singapore Air Show .
" We will not make the problem more complicated . If they ( Singapore ) cancel the invitation , then we cancel the visit . 's That simple, " said Purnomo .
According to Purnomo naming Indonesian Navy ship KRI Usman Aaron is final and has been through the procedure and an Indonesian rights .
Purnomo also confirmed that this issue will not interfere with a variety of cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore that have been conducted over the last few years .
" So far only Singapore expressed concerns regarding the naming of Indonesian naval vessel . Indonesia and Singapore have their own perspective on this issue . Nevertheless, Indonesia has a strong reason why we chose the name Usman KRI Aaron , " Purnomo said .
Formerly Chief Information Office ( Kadispen ) Air Force First Marshal Lucky Suropati said naming the latest Indonesian warship Usman Aaron has gone through the procedure .
" We describe the names of two Indonesian national hero , " said Lucky .
Previously , the Singapore government has expressed concern over the Indonesian navy ship naming after both the marines Indonesia took part in the bombing of MacDonald House in Orchard Road in 1965 during the era of confrontation Indonesia - Malaysia .
The confrontation itself happens after the first President Sukarno accused the formation of Malaysia as a country ( which Singapore was part of Malaysia at the time ) which is supported by the colonial British .
In an attempt to infiltrate the territory of Malaysia , Indonesia sent two naval members namely Usman and Harun Haji Mohamed Ali Said to bomb Macdonald House in Orchard Road , Singapore , killing three people and injuring 33 others
Both Marines were caught and executed in Singapore which is then sent to Indonesia where they are regarded as a national hero .
The incident later led to tension between Indonesia - Singapore for several years . But the relationship is restored when the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew visited Jakarta in 1973 and laying flowers at the grave marines .
