Former President Carter sent a letter by post to avoid NSA
Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter admitted that he had been using the postal service to send a letter to avoid the observation of the U.S. National Security Agency ( NSA ) .
He also considers the methods of observation it has been misused , AFP reported .
" When I want to communicate with foreign leaders personally , I type or write your own, bring it to the post office and send it , " Carter said with a laugh when answering questions in the NBC program " Meet the Press " .
" I feel that my communication probability watched , " he said in the show that aired Sunday .
A pile of documents leaked by former NSA employee contracts Edward Snowden has sparked outrage in the U.S. and abroad about the U.S. broad capabilities in running intelligence programs .
Officials launched a defense to say that the important methods used to be foiled terror attacks , but President Barack Obama has ordered reforms after the leakage of documents .
When asked if the program was necessary , Carter said that the program has been " liberalized in such a way , and in my opinion , has been misused by intelligence agencies of our own . "
" I'm sure , if I send e-mails , ( letter ) that will be monitored , " he said .
