consists ofover 30 NGOS in the field of climate change, released
a report Wednesday (19/11). In the report, they said greenhouse
gas emissions in Brazil reached 1,57 billion tons by
2013 compared to 1.45 billion tons by 2012.
This increase reversed a
previous trend since 2005 in which greenhouse gas
emissionsof that country continue to fall because of the rate of deforestation is
also down, saidthe report.
The report said
the land use changes that accompanied the rise in the
rate ofdeforestation in the Amazon and Cerrado ecosystems in Central Brazil raises 16,48percent
of all greenhouse gas emissions by 2013.
About 7.8 percent
of its emissions come from the energy sector due to the
increasing use of geothermal power stations and petrol and
diesel consumption for transport, according to the report.
