JAKARTA —

President of the "Jokowi" Joko Widodo pointed to former Chairman of the corruption eradication Commission (KPK) as head of the unit of Work Implementing Specificbusiness activities Upstream Oil and Gas (SKKMigas), as part of an effort to restoreinvestor confidence towards the energy sector that tainted rampant corruption.

"The Presidential Decree appointed Amien Sunaryadi as head of SKKMigas," saidMinister of energy and Mineral resources (DEMR) Sudirman Said.

Sudirman said he was confident Amien, who replaced Johannes Widjonarko acting in accordance with his new position.

"SKKMigas should be managed by a survivor, and in my opinion can bedikategorisasikan as fighters Amien. His strength, as someone who is really paying attention to the institutional system, is indispensable in SKKMigas, "he said.
