Youth killed four people due to the Mombasa raids of mosques

The attackers carrying black flags similar to those seized in the operation at the mosque of Moses and Sakinah.

Four dead, stabbed by a mob of youths in the city of Mombasa, Kenya, the police said.

The attack occurred a few hours after police raided two mosques because the accusedlinked militant Islamist groups in neighboring Somalia.
One person died from police operations and over 200 others were detained.
Eyewitnesses said masked machete-armed youth attacked residents who are waitingat the bus stop named Kisauni area.

Several people were injured due to attacks carried out in return for the police action.

"We are investigating this incident and detained a number of people allegedly involved," said local police commander Richard Ngatia.
Several young men were reportedly carrying black flags similar to those seized in the operation at the mosque of Moses and Sakinah.
Police said they also seized a gun and ammunition, including grenades in the operation.

Islamic scholars and human rights groups condemned the operation.
They looked at the action that would only reinforce the view that the police weretargeting the entire Islamic community in Mombasa. (BBC)
