Approval by the Indonesian government that would allow the company to continue the US's exports of copper concentrate
Newmont Mining Corp. is negotiating an agreement with the Indonesian government that would allow the company to continue the US's exports of copper concentrate, according to a spokesman on Wednesday (23/7).
Earlier Wednesday, Freeport-McMoRan Inc. said it expects to "immediately" sign a memorandum of understanding that allows the company to resume exports, which had been suspended since January.
"We hope to reach an agreement with the Indonesian government on the MOU or Memorandum of Understanding, which we expect will lead to the issuance of an export license," according to Newmont spokesman Omar Jabara. (Reuters) VOA
