In the 2014 elections, the Democratic Party declared open to external Presidential candidate nomination form. Preparation for the determination of candidates to be promoted Democrats will be announced by the middle or end of 2013.

This was stated by Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Party Saan Mustopa, Saturday (05/01/2013), in a discussion in Jakarta.

"Sources of Democratic political recruitment not only internally but also gives space to both the external and also about the presidential election, we opened the space for external candidates," said Saan.

Open attitude, continued Saan, Democrats do not figure out which is owned by the party. But only to look for the best leader.

"If the internal party does not allow to be imposed. During external had the vision and the same view, we can not go just like that if it's good," said Saan.

Member of Commission III tells the conditions that must be held for an external candidate must have the capacity, popularity, until a qualified electability. He should be considered more special than Democrats cadres there.

"External requirements should be more special than internal. If the same from the outside of course why should the external should be more of everything," said Saan.

To discuss the candidates for President, Saan said Democrats will decide by the middle or end of 2013. "It's talking about the year 2013 if the convention or something," he added.
