It was announced by Turgay Unlu, Chairman of the Association of Exporters of Wheat, Pulses and Oil Vegetable Turkey in a press release on Thursday (17/01/2013) this.

Currently Indonesian Trade Security Committee has been investigating allegations of dumping on imports of wheat, causing the collapse of the domestic industry. During the ongoing investigation, the government has established additional import duties while trade protection by 20 percent.


Representatives of the Association of Exporters of wheat, pulses and oilseeds Turkey, expressed readiness to attend a hearing about the application of additional import duties for imported wheat.

Parties related to the case of security measures (safeguards) on the import of wheat, has been invited by KPPI (Indonesian Trade Security Committee) for the hearing on January 17, 2013.

"We are excited to attend the hearing, which is an opportunity to present our data as well as listen to presentations from the Aptindo and other stakeholders," kataTurgay Unlu, Chairman of the Association of Exporters of Wheat, Pulses, and Oil Vegetable Turkey , in its press release on Wednesday (16/01/2013) this.

As known, Indonesian Flour Producers Association (APTINDO) proposed security measures while in August 2012. The Ministry of Finance approved the form BMTPS by 20 percent in December 2012, and will be valid for 200 days starting from December 5, 2012.

Through hearings, the Government of Indonesia will try to get some more information from local producers, stating that they have been wronged and flour imports the data from them stating otherwise. "We want to listen to their own data to describe and they could hear directly the data that we have," added Unlu.
