Jakarta Police have checked the relevant shopkeepers selling shoe brand Kickers made from pigskin but labeled halal from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
According to the Head of Public Relations Jakarta Police Commissioner Rikwanto, besides checking the shop owners of Kickers shoes labeled halal pig skin was found, the police have taken the example of the famous brand shoes.
"Samples have been taken from the store there are two, both the shoes and the halal label that says pig skin lining," said Rikwanto, Wednesday (02/01/2013).
Rikwanto explained that the next process is a call to the distributor Kickers. "This week will be calling. Distributor expected to attend," he said.
According Rikwanto, calling a distributor Kickers are limited as a witness to sort the problem.
"From there it will be found responsible parties. Likewise with the cycle and also the facts will be revealed," said Rikwanto.
Police also plan to invite an expert from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to explain about halal label attached to the Kickers shoes.
"We've sent a letter to the MUI," added Rikwanto.
Kickers Shoes complaint by a consumer named Winarno, Wednesday (12/19/2012) earlier. In these shoes are labeled Pig Skin Lining, but the halal sticker affixed.
