Russians not so assault Crimea

Fears of an attack from Russian forces to military bases surrounding the Ukrainian Crimea unproven , said the Ukrainian defense ministry spokesman told AFP .

" Silent night , " said Vladyslav Seleznyov , a spokesman for the defense ministry to the Crimea , told AFP in the capital of the autonomous region , Simferopol .

Ukrainian officials say Russia has mengultimatum Ukrainian troops in the Crimea to surrender or face a full attack , but Russia denied these claims as completely false .

Russian forces surrounded the Ukrainian military bases around the Crimea after the Russian -speaking autonomous region fell in the crisis following the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych .

Ukrainian Defense Ministry said more than 6,000 Russian troops have been sent to the Crimea Kremlin .

The gunmen were believed to be under the command of Moscow has held a number of important government buildings and airports in the Crimean peninsula .
