The process of democratization in Myanmar ' stalled '
Aung San Suu Kyi was elected member of Parliament in 2012 after living under house arrest.
Myanmar's opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, insisting that reforms in his country"at a standstill" and asked all parties to "not too optimistic".
While speaking at a press conference in Yangon Wednesday (05/11), the Nobel Prize winner said the reforms in his country have not experienced any real progress in the last two years.
It adds high-level talks with a number of senior politicians and the heads of the armed forces last week was not much to fruition.
Next week Myanmar will host a high level meeting, which will be attended by severalheads of State, including President Barack Obama.
Aung San Suu Kyi asked for a variety of parties, including the international community,to not expect much with the ongoing democratization process in Myanmar.
"We think the American Government sometimes too optimistic with the reformprocess (in Myanmar)," said Suu Kyi.
"The lack of progress must be serious thought by the American Government," he added.
Myanmar implementing reformist policies under President Thein Sein since 2010 elections, which among other things encourages Aung San Suu Kyi is willing toengage in the political process.
