The government of North Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara targeting 500,000 tourist arrivals in 2013 to support the Visit Lombok Sumbawa (VLS) volume II with a target of 2 million tourists in 2015.

North Lombok Regent, H Djohan Sjamsu in Mataram, on Thursday (01/03/2013), said that in 2012 the number of foreign tourists visiting the archipelago and the region of around 400,000 people, making it capable memberika 40 percent contribution to the realization of the program VLS I/2012 as many as one million tourists visit.

"I see from year to year after the formation of the North Lombok regency tourist visits continue to increase. By 2011 the number of tourist visits and 2012 recorded 360,000 people reached 400,000 people," he said.

Djohan said they were optimistic target of tourist arrivals to North Lombok as many as 500,000 people in 2013 will be achieved, because the interest of foreign tourists and the archipelago to visit the area is increasing.

To that end, North Lombok regency seeks to foster and maintain order and security in tourism destinations in order to provide a sense of security and comfort to the tourists who visit and vacation in the area.

According Djohan, the increasing tourist arrivals since backed security conditions are more conducive to reform and has been featured destinations, such as a tourist attraction in the village of Gili Trawangan Gili Indah, District Winner.

To support the development of tourism industry, the North Lombok regency provide convenience to investors to build accommodation facilities, good hotels and restaurants and other tourism businesses.

Djohan resume, every year increasing PAD North Lombok and about 70 percent comes from tourism. In the first year when the North Lombok is set to become the new autonomous region in 2009, North Lombok PAD Rp 6 billion.

In 2010 increased to USD 10 billion, and rose again to Rp 25 billion in 2011, then in 2012 increased to USD 30 billion, 70 percent of which came from the tourism sector, and in 2013 targeted Rp 32.6 billion.
