Towards the determination of legislative elections to be conducted in April 2013, political parties began aggressively maneuvered to approach the artist. Gerindra Party and the National Mandate Party (PAN) have declared themselves begin to establish communication with the artist.

Gerindra Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said, there are two artists who establish communication, the singer and actress Happy Salma Irwansyah. "Already prefix talks, there is Happy Salma, Irwansyah, the more I forget. They came to me and expressed interest to join," said Muzani, Wednesday (01/16/2013), in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

Despite establish communication, Muzani declared his party would not confirm whether these artists will go forward as a candidate in the 2014 election Gerindra later. Muzani said each candidate will be carried Gerindra from among whatever remains must go through the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, the PAN faction chairman Tjatur Sapto Edi said the party had political communication with the three artists.

"There Ikang Fawzi, Marissa Haque, and Dessy Ratnasari, we have been doing communications," said Tjatur.

Tjatur said his party would not differentiate the treatment of artists to put forward as candidates. According to him, PAN is open to candidates from all walks of life as long as he has the capacity, credibility, until a good track record.
