Report: Canada let NSA spy on the G20 summit , G8
Canada let the U.S. National Security Agency ( NSA ) to spy on the G20 summit in Toronto in 2010 and the G8 summit a few days earlier , according to documents cited by the public television station CBC .
Note that the NSA information disclosed by Edward Snowden , a former NSA employee who is now a fugitive in Russia and the U.S. , shows in detail the spy operation during the six days that launched the U.S. embassy in Ottawa .
The documents do mention surveillance when U.S. President Barack Obama and 25 other heads of government met in the territory of Canada in June 2010 was intended to " support U.S. policy goals . "
