46 killed , 71 injured in attacks in Iraq


A series of attacks across Iraq on Wednesday , killing 46 people and wounding 71 others , thus raising concerns militias and fanatics could plunge the country into sectarian riot control.

At least 10 people were killed and 30 others injured in a suicide bomb attack on a funeral in the west of the Iraqi capital , Baghdad , on Wednesday , said a local police source told Xinhua .

The attack occurred at sunset , when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a funeral tent in the Region of Abu Ghraib , about 25 kilometers west of Baghdad , the source said - who declined to be named .

The death toll could rise as ambulances , police and civilian vehicles evacuated the wounded to several medical centers nearby hospital , the sources said .

In western Iraq , riots erupted in the morning , when a car bomb exploded outside a police station in the Regional Jowaiba Habaniyah in east Ramadi , about 110 kilometers west of Baghdad , the source told Xinhua .

Shortly after the explosion , two suicide bombers , who attempted to enter the police station , they detonated a bomb vest at the entrance , killing four policemen and wounding 12 others , the sources said .
