Japan protests China's new air defense zone
Japan on Saturday expressed strong protest against China after Beijing announced the implementation of " air defense identification zone " in the East China Sea , which includes the island dispute , the foreign ministry said .
Junichi Ihara , who heads the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of Japan's foreign ministry , was protested by telephone to Han Zhiqiang , a high official at the Chinese Embassy in Japan , the ministry said in a statement .
