BPOM : Dangerous Consuming Alcoholic Beverages In High Doses

Directorate of Food Inspection and Certification Agency for Food and Drug Administration ( BPOM ) RI released about the dangers of drinking alcohol in high doses . However, alcohol is not banned but should be controlled through the mechanism of government regulation .

'' It is vital that in order to provide peace and order in the life of Indonesian society therefore it is necessary to stipulate provisions for the control of production , circulation and sale or serving of alcoholic beverages , especially liquor and its supervision , "said the head of the Directorate of Inspection and Certification Agency for Food Drug Administration and Food ( BPOM ) RI , Juleka Susy Susanti release received ASATUNEWS , Friday , ( 29/11 ) .

Control the circulation of alcoholic beverages contained in a series of laws , including :
1 . UU.RI no. 18 of 2012 on food
2 . Republic Act no. 3f 2009 on health
3 . Regulation no . 28 of 2004 on the safety , quality , nutrition and food
4 . Presidential Decree No. . 3 of 1997 on the supervision and control of alcoholic beverages .

More vulnerable when the level of danger created adulterated alcoholic beverages . Generally the adulterated liquor was added methanol to make alcohol at cheap prices .

" Methanol is not to be consumed due to the highly toxic whereas ethanol can be consumed as alcoholic beverages such as beer , wine and brandy , " he said
