Pertamina Exsplorasi and production (EP) re-discovered hydrocarbons in Sumatra.
The discovery was made by applying the play (concept exploration) drilling new exploration in the region Binjai, North Sumatra, and Prabumulih, South Sumatra.
Public Relations Manager conveyed Pertamina EP, Agus Amperianto, Tuesday (25/12/2012), in Jakarta.
The results of the production test wells Bengal (BGL-1) in Binjai, acquired oil and gas content of the gas consisting of 13.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) and condensate 857.5 BCPD. The production test wells South Hibiscus (HBS-1) oil drain 111.9 barrels per day (BOPD) and 0.2 MMSCFD gas.
Well Exploration Drilling Bengal (BGL) - 1 has a depth of 3150 MD (meters deep) on Tampur Formation reservoir objective, Parapat and Belumai. The discovery of oil and gas in the formation Tampur, Parapat and Belumai, it is expected to trigger more intensive evaluation in the search for hydrocarbon exploration potential and opportunities in areas like North Sumatra.
Exploration drilling is an attempt to reactivate exploration activities in Block NAD-Sumbagut after 7 years no exploration activities.
Bengal structure located in the village of Tanjung Jati, District West Binjai or about 7 Km from City Binjai, in the district of North Sumatra Binjai.
Follow-up of the present invention will be evaluated after the sub-surface drilling BGL-1 and the results will be used as the basis for determining the plan Put On Productions, delineation drilling and 3D seismic surveys.
Meanwhile, the success of drilling HBS-1 added to optimism the application of the concept of intra-field exploration will be more wide open in South Sumatra. This concept will be supported by the seismic data in the area.
