Pharaoh statue stood again in the city of Luxor
The giant statue of Pharaoh was back up after collapsing
due to the earthquake in Luxor, Egypt about 3,200 years ago.
In a ceremony to mark the end of the restoration project,
a team of archaeologists to uncover the statue of Amenhotep III on Sunday
(14/12), as reported by the BBC's Alan Johnston.13-meter tall statue stands at the gate of a temple
cemetery on the edge of the Nile, Luxor.
In addition to the statue of Amenhotep III, stands a
giant statue of the same with the first statue. That statue of Pharaoh who
restored earlier this year.
Both statues wearing the white crown of Upper Egypt
symbol. According to archaeologists, the Pharaoh Amenhotep III inherited the
empire that stretched from the Euphrates to the Sudan.
Make a second statue devastating earthquake collapsed and
suffered heavy damage. These conditions allowed for centuries to be held
restoration project.
Among the restored is a big part 89 and a number of small
fragments.
Last year a team of archaeologists have uncovered ancient
tombs more than 3,000 years old in the city of Luxor. (BBC)
