Chairman of the National Democratic Party National Assembly Surya Paloh said his party could meet the quota of 30 per cent representation of women in each electoral district for prospective legislators.



In Jakarta, Saturday (19/2013), Surya said that the party had anticipated the law commands. Representation of women is reflected in the management of both national and local levels. Readiness of the infrastructure will also be forwarded to the hiring of candidates, taking into account the representation of woman as affirmative action.

In fact, continued Surya, the quota was not only affirmative action initiative, but also notably progressive action. "In many ways, we have to admit that women have more capabilities than men. Let's give them a chance and they have a right not just 30 percent, but can be up to 50 percent or more," says Surya.

With regard to the criteria of the candidates being deliberated Nasdem, Surya emphasized three points, namely the capability, integrity, and acceptability. "In addition to a spirit of change, they must be qualified intellectually and morally acceptable-public. Qualified, but it must be accepted.
