Bangka Belitung Governor Eko Maulana Ali ensure tin mining in the sea will not interfere with the activities of tourism in the area.

"The government will carry out the assessment on each tin mining activity in the sea so as not to disrupt the Babel marine tourism, for Babel province's commitment to develop marine tourism as tourism flagship," he said in Pangkalpinang, Tuesday (15/01/2013).

He said the mining activities in the sea or often known as suction vessel will be reviewing in order not to damage the marine environment. The government will strictly supervise every activity of tin mining in the sea. "If they break, decisive action may be taken in accordance with the rules," he said.

Currently, the government is discussing the determination of the spatial regulation of mining in the sea. All mining activities at sea will be in order again strictly in accordance with the agreement with the Regional Representatives Council (Parliament) of Babylon.

"From the first lot of illegal mining activities in the sea is destroying coral reefs and marine tourism in Babylon because there is no regulation of mining in the sea," he said.

He said the government would soon take action to curb mining activities in order not to harm the people of Babylon in the future.

According to Eko, Babel tourism should be well laid out, as it has incredible potential to be developed, such as nature, culture and history.
