President of the Republic of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner Elizabeth, and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, will make an official visit to Indonesia.

Special Staff of the President of International Relations, Teuku Faizasyah, said the President of Argentina will make a state visit to Indonesia on 16-18 January 2013. He is scheduled to meet the President on January 17 at the State Palace, Jakarta. At the bilateral meeting, said Faiza, will discuss the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in economics. Argentina is the country's third largest export destination Indonesia to Latin America after Brazil and Mexico.
"In contrast, Indonesia is the largest trading partner in the ASEAN region. Total value of bilateral trade between the two countries in 2011 amounted to 1.94 billion U.S. dollars. Till October 2012, bilateral trade reached 1.67 billion U.S. dollars," he said in a press release Faizasyah , Wednesday (16/01/2013).
While in Indonesia, Faizasyah added, De Kirchner is scheduled to visit the National Museum and conduct a wreath laying ceremony at the Heroes Cemetery, Kalibata. President De Krichner also will be meeting with a number of major business players in Indonesia. Participate participate in this visit as many as 230 businesses Argentina.
The prime minister will pay an official visit to Indonesia 18-19 January 2013 accompanied by his wife Akie Abe and the number of delegates. In addition to meeting with the President, said Faiza, Abe is also scheduled to make a visit to the Economic Research Institute for Asean And East Asia (ERIA).
"In the bilateral meeting, will discuss efforts to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields with reference to the agreed Strategic Partnership between the two countries in 2006," said Faizasyah.
Faizasyah added that Japan is one of the major partners of Indonesia's economic cooperation. Value of bilateral trade in 2011 reached 53.1 billion dollars. Until October 2012, bilateral trade value reached 44.85 billion dollars. The value of Japanese investment in 2011 reached 1.51 billion dollars in October 2012 and until the investment value reached 1.78 billion dollars.
"The visit of President of Argentina and Japan's Prime Minister to Indonesia is expected to strengthen Indonesia's relationship with the two countries, not only among governments but also between people and businesses," said Faizasyah.
