PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) focus provide syndicated loans to companies in need. This confirms the company as the largest syndicated bank loan portfolio in Indonesia for two years in a row since 2011.

According to Bloomberg data, syndicated loans handled by the Bank in the past year a total of 18 deals worth a total of 1.4 billion U.S. dollars or equivalent to Rp 13.4 trillion. The number of syndicated loans puts the Bank in the top 10 list Mandated arrangers in the country.

Director of Corporate Banking of Bank Mandiri Fransisca Nelwan Mok explains one syndicated loan transactions conducted over the past year the Bank is financing to PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk for Blast Furnace plant in Cilegon.

In a transaction with a total value of 450 million U.S. dollars, the Bank acted as Mandated Lead Arranger with BNI and BRI especially for onshore loan with Bank financing value of 300 million U.S. dollars or equivalent to Rp 2.95 trillion, which includes standby facility.

Fransisca said syndicated financing distribution pattern is considered effective to support the implementation of major projects, especially infrastructure sector.

"We are committed to increasing active role in supporting business development efforts to enhance national economic growth through alliances with other banks. Because, with the alliance, the role of banks in supporting the economy can be optimized," said Fransisca in Jakarta, Thursday (01/10/2013 ).

In line with the achievement of Bank Mandiri, PT Mandiri Securities, a subsidiary of Bank Mandiri, also noted the success in maintaining the position as the largest and most active underwriter in Indonesia.

As the best investment bank in Indonesia, Mandiri Securities underwriting market share totaling Rp 11.456 trillion from 33 companies throughout 2012.

Moreover, in the last year also helped handle Mandiri Securities State Savings Bank rights issue worth Rp 1.87 trillion, with satisfactory results.
