GM International Headquarters Moving to Singapore
General Motors Co . ( GM ) will move its international headquarters from Shanghai to Singapore as part of change management . The effort is intended to focus on the rapidly growing foreign markets .
Detroit automakers , the United States said it would hire 120 workers in Singapore after the office opened in the second quarter of 2014. Singapore office will oversee GM's key business in Africa , Southeast Asia , Australia and New Zealand , India , South Korea and the Middle East , as well as Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe , according to company information .
Approximately 250 of the 300 employees in China , as well as 245 employees in South Korea will not be moved .
