The Government will increase the promotion of Indonesian cuisine and making it an important part of Indonesian tourism promotion abroad .
During a working visit to China on 11-15 November, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu said Indonesia needs more culinary variety heavily promoted in order to become one of the icons of Indonesia in foreign countries.
Mari said Indonesia has set 30 traditional Indonesian culinary icon since December 14, 2012 .
" It represents the culinary traditions and most of Indonesia , and everything is set on certain criteria , such as all the marinade ingredients or easily obtainable anywhere, in any country , " he said .
However, the types of food that have been determined to be an icon, according to him , is still not widely known abroad .
The government is trying to intensify campaign to increase the popularity of culinary Indonesia by presenting the types of traditional food in any event or evening receptions Indonesia Indonesian culture .
" So really it is promoted Indonesian culinary . Because if we wish there was an Indonesian restaurant in each country still can not , especially in Beijing where only Indonesian restaurant is still open-close - open-close , " he said .
He also explained that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has worked with culinary experts Indonesian and fronted by a professional chef Chef Vindex Tengker to write a recipe book 30 Traditional Indonesian Culinary Icons .

Indonesian cuisine in China
Indonesian culinary trail in China there are several restaurants in Indonesia such as Padang Restaurant ( Beijing ) which not only serves Padang , but also cuisine from several other regions such as West Java and East Java .
