Opens jokowi Amendment 11 Islamic Universities



REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated nine changes Agana Islamic State College (STAIN) into the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and three IAIN to the State Islamic University (UIN).
Nine STAIN which changed its status is IAIN Samarinda, Palangkaraya, Kendari, Manado, Jember, Salatiga, Purwokerto, Palopo, and Langsa. While three UIN which was inaugurated is UIN Wali Songo, Semarang, UIN Raden Fatah, Palembang and UIN Medan, North Sumatra.

The inauguration of President at the State Palace, Jalan Merdeka Utara, with the signing of the inauguration of the above inscription.

The inauguration was attended by the Minister Agamag Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, a Labour Cabinet Minister, Ambassador of Country Companions, officials and Rector PTAIN.

"By delivering Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I inaugurated nine Agana Islamic State College (STAIN) which became the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and three IAIN to the State Islamic University (UIN)," said Jokowi.

In his speech, the President welcomed the transformation of both the College of Religious institutes to universities and high schools to institute. He joined pride with the faculty of medicine at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.


"Thank God, I think this is the function of Islamic education in order to meet the needs of state and government and the people are still very much needed," he said.
