Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika establish 21 local holidays (facultative) for various Hindu religious rituals, in addition to 14 national holidays and five days off together by the central government during 2013.




"Local Holidays in Bali was intended to Hindus to perform religious activities and worship well," said Head of Public Relations Bureau of the Provincial Government of Bali I Ketut Teneng in Denpasar, on Thursday.

He said facultative holiday for 21 days this year, among others devoted to Shiva Ratri celebration, a day of sin contemplation for two days (10-11 January), and Saraswati, science birthday on January 12.

Then there are days Pagerwesi to strengthen the power of faith on January 16, and the Holy Day Nyepi Saka year 1935 includes Tawur Kesanga, Nyepi Holy Day, and Ngembak Geni on March 11 to 13.

In addition there are three-day holiday Galungan Holy Day on 26-28 March and Holy Day April 5-7 Brass and Saraswati Holy Day which is celebrated every 210 days on August 10, Pagerwesi Day on August 14.

Then there are also Galungan is celebrated every 210 days on October 22 to 14, Holiday Brass again on 1-3 November.

I Ketut Teneng explained, Bali Governor circular dated October 10, 2012 about Holidays Local, National and Leaves has been delivered to all working units (SKPD), SOEs, enterprises, regents, mayors, and private companies in Bali.

In a circular, the Governor asked the agency with the task of providing public services such as hospitals, telecommunications, electricity, and fire department employees make arrangements so that the public service is not compromised.
