Head of Information Services and Data BMKG Region I Field Hendra Suwarta in Medan on Thursday said the quake was centered at 0.58 degrees north latitude and 92.05 degrees longitude east.

While the location of the quake was located at 503 km southwest of Simeulue with a depth of 10 km below sea level.

BMKG Region I Field predict an earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude does not pose a potential tsunami.
