Another aim is to provide an opportunity for those who have never participated in a similar race .
One branch in this event is a race of brain -based , designed for participants who are paralyzed from the neck down .
They would control virtual characters , using a device that connects the brain with a computer .
There is also a race to Click participants with prosthetic limbs and artificial bones .
Two medals prepared for each branch of the race , participants and companies to develop software for the athletes .

At the TED conference in Vancouver last week , Hugh Herr of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology showed off prosthetic invention he was doing with his team .
