BNPB : Hotspots reduced in Riau , Riau land arson suspect arrested
The number of hotspots in Riau Islands decreased after smoke disaster relief operations intensified over the weekend , said National Disaster Management Agency ( BNPB ) .
The operation was carried out Integrated Disaster Management Task Force Smoke from land and air .
Head of Data and Information BNPB , Sutopo Purwo Nugroho , in a written statement saying that based on NOAA satellite observations in the Riau region there is one point that is a hotspot in Rupat Bengkalis .
Monitoring the Meteorology , Climatology and Geophysics Agency satellite states Terra / Aqua ( MODIS ) shows that there are 18 hotspots Meranti 1 , Bengkalis 3 , Inhil 8 , Inhu 2 , Pelalawan 2 , and Siak 2 .

Burned land with a total area of 20 814 ha have been extinguished by the Task Force of the terrestrial military , while Mangala Agni has been putting out 2,895 ha .

Six people are still fugitives who ran out of Riau .
A task force of law enforcement and Riau regional police arrest 71 suspects linked to fires in Riau , 27 of whom were arrested in Bengkalis .

Meanwhile , Head of Data Information and Public Relations Sutopo BNPB stated conditions in Riau province until Thursday afternoon ( 20 / 03 ) bright and people can move smoothly .
