Hold Navy Maritime Security Keep Important Role

Armed Forces Indonesian Navy ( TNI AL ) as the main component of sea defenses in the country the Republic of Indonesia ( Republic of Indonesia ) plays an important role in maintaining maritime security and stability , particularly in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific .

Thus , Indonesia as the largest archipelago country in the world has a world-class navy ( a world class navy ) is a necessity to ensure Indonesia's national interests and participate in regional stability and international security . This was stated by Chief of Naval Staff ( Kasal ) Admiral Dr . Marsetio at the opening of the International Maritime Security Symposium ( IMSS ) 2013 in Jakarta , Tuesday ( 10/12/2013 ) .

Furthermore Kasal said , the International Maritime Security Symposium ( IMSS ) is one implementation of the Navy in an effort to provide a comprehensive overview of the development of maritime security both nationally , regionally , and globally .

Given that the threat to maritime zones will continue to be in line with the developments in economics , information technology , and communications . The success of maritime security threats responds more effectively and to overcome the problems of continuous threats to maritime security .

Focus Group Discussion on the date of December 18, 2012 which was attended by a number of top officials of the Navy and representatives from several agencies related ministries obtained agreement on the need for the Navy to take the initiative in an effort to show its presence in the region and internationally about its seriousness in participating stability maritime security .

" One of those concerns is to implement international symposium on maritime security ( International Maritime Security Symposium ) , which was attended by all maritime components and abroad ," Kasal said .

IMSS which lasted 10 to December 13, 2013 , attended by all components of maritime power at home and abroad , particularly countries that are members of the Indian Oceans membership Naval Symposium ( IONS ) and the Western Pacific Naval Symposium ( WPNS ) .

The grand Hajad followed at least 350 people , consisting of : 170 foreign participants , with details of 114 people from 57 countries pal / WPNS / IONS each including Kasal along with a staff . Participants from the ranks of the Defense Attache ( Athan ) 39 people , and the International Maritime Community 17 people . While participants from the ranks of the Navy totaling 76 people . While the 104 other participants from non - bersal Navy consisting of the Ministry , LPNK , academicians , Editor in Chief , and maritime organizations . ( PUS )
